President of the National Infrastructure Development Company (Nidco) Dr Carson Charles says it was not possible to operate an emergency water-taxi service from Port-of-Spain to Chaguaramas yesterday.

Five months after Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar turned the sod, Works Minister Jack Warner yesterday handed over $1.5 billion to the National Infrastructure Development Company, (NIDCO), to finance the start of the construction of the $7.2 billion highway between San Fernando and Point Fortin.
Water taxi to replace Express on ferry run

One of the four water taxis used to service the San Fernando/Port-of-Spain route will be used to shuttle passengers from Trinidad to Tobago while the T&T Express is on drydock. The announcement was made yesterday by Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner as he spoke during the commissioning ceremony of the Instrument Landing System at the Crown Point International Airport.
