The establishment of a modernized Motor Vehicle Authority (MVA) in Trinidad and Tobago is a major priority for the Government. There is a great urgency to revitalize, re-develop and construct more secure and sustainable infrastructure to treat with all the elements which currently exist under the existing Licensing Division.

The GoRTT has embarked on an initiative to implement a complete motor vehicle solution that will enable it to transform and modernize how motor vehicle services are delivered within Trinidad and Tobago.

The vision for transformation includes the establishment of a new Motor Vehicle Authority, the acquisition, adoption, and implementation of a complete motor vehicle solution (including legislation, regulations, business processes, procedures, and policies) and the deployment of a motor vehicle solution throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
